Picture of Gill CheneryGill Chenery is an experienced fully qualified teacher and trainer working independently providing high quality support to schools, educational professionals and services that care about improving life chances for all children and young people. Gill’s main areas of interest and expertise lie in promoting positive behaviour and attendance (B and A). This could be as part of whole school improvement, working alongside staff in a coaching role improving Learning and Teaching to promote positive behaviour and attendance or working with services which support schools to achieve this.

Gill has a solid teaching back ground in Secondary schools, mainly in London, which were in challenging circumstances, including a PRU. Her substantial work at management level enabled her to later become an effective Consultant within a large local authority promoting positive Behaviour and Attendance. Using a mix of solution focused approaches and practical creativity she helped schools build their own capacity to gain sustained improvement. Gill gained national recognition for her work and was asked several times to work with the Prime Minsters Delivery Unit (PMDU) contributing to shaping the future of National Behaviour and Attendance work. Gill then became a Regional Adviser for the National Strategies for Behaviour Attendance and SEAL (Social, Emotional Aspects of Learning), where she supported many LA’s in London and the South East. This was an opportunity to contribute further to Department of Education publications, planning and delivery National Training.

Gill holds the NPSLBA (National Programme of Specialist Leaders Behaviour and Attendance) qualification, is Ofsted trained and Team Teach trained.

Gill is joined by other collegues in the field of Behaviour and Attendance, including those with expertise in SEN (Speacial Eductional Needs), School improvement and Safe guarding to provide an expert team.
